RA-RO X MOGSHADE
Before becoming something else, it begins here.
In the mountains of Guarda, the Manta Lobeira is still woven from churra wool on a 300-year-old manual loom. The process survives today through the hands of the only certified team still producing the true Cobertor de Papa, a textile tradition shaped by the highlands and by the lives that unfolded within them.
This is not a fabric separated from its origin. Its density, resistance, and texture come directly from the conditions that made it necessary in the first place. It was created for altitude, for cold, for exposure, for use. Its character is inseparable from the landscape and culture that formed it.
For this collaboration with Ra-Ro, we designed a headcover that carries forward the weight, tactility, and memory of the original material into a different setting.
What emerges is a piece shaped by pastoral tradition, reinterpreted through another context without losing the force of where it began.
Before it belonged to golf, it belonged to the mountains. And that still shows.
